I'd spent most of my life unhappy with my body and scared of the gym. I didn't know what to do and was quite intimidated by the environment and how little physical strength I thought I had.

Reaching out to Clare for personal training and nutritional guidance was one of the best things I ever did for myself. She was patient and kind, and eternally encouraging to me in each session. Realising that I am strong, and that I can do it has given me such a boost to my confidence - not just physically, but in all areas of my life.

Clare challenges me, and makes sure I work hard in every session, so I always come away feeling strong and revitalised. She has changed how I think about myself and has given me the knowledge and technique so I can exercise effectively on my own too. Working with Clare is an absolute pleasure, and I cannot recommend her enough.

After retiring in March I joined Clare's programme of two PT sessions per week over an eight week period. (Correct that if it's wrong or got a particular name Clare). I'd been a regular attender at the Gym for many years but felt I'd not achieved a great deal. Clare provided exactly the right motivation, structure and guidance that years of solo attendance had lacked. As well as introducing a wide variety of new exercises, that actually made the Gym interesting, Clare's good humour and gentle motivation helped develop my capabilities to an extent I'd never thought possible. Over time, almost imperceptibly Clare incrementally pushed me to my limits whilst at the same time monitoring my health and well being. There is an overriding sense that you are in safe and sensitive hands with Clare. After the first 8 weeks I came back for a further programme. This has served to consolidate my initial progress whilst introducing a whole set of new and challenging exercises. I can't speak highly enough about Clare's professionalism and human touch. It's hard to believe that such a challenging activity could be made such fun.

I wanted to start strength training to improve my mental health and fitness so I decided to look for a Personal Trainer to teach me and got in contact with Clare.

Since starting personal training sessions I have learnt about different strength exercises (and love learning new ones!), proper form and nutrition. I have become stronger and gained so much confidence in myself that I am now able to go to the gym alone outside of our sessions which I never thought I’d be able to do.

Clare is a brilliant trainer, very friendly, full of encouragement and always smiling. I have left every session feeling great. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else.

From the initial meeting Clare has demonstrated her extensive knowledge of fitness, nutrition and the human body and not only develops a truly holistic person plan but continues, on a session by session basis, to adapt and redevelop the training plan. Throughout the sessions Clare makes you feel relaxed and comfortable and supportively pushes you to achieve your best. Even on days where exercise is the last thing you want to do Clare's enthusiasm and passion carries you through to the end. Clare is an outstanding personal training and a wonderful person - a real pleasure to be training with.

I first enlisted the help of Clare to get my running back on track.  Clare prepared a 12 week plan for me, gave me the encouragement and support I needed to get me out pounding the pavements again.

I was so impressed with the level of support Clare gave me that I decided to go the whole hog and start weekly PT sessions.

I am now 10 sessions in and can honestly say that although I have always been active and a gym member this is the first time in years I have seen a visible change in my body shape and fitness......I feel amazing!

Every session is fun in a strange painful sort of way (!!) and different which keeps me motivated.  Clare makes sure each move is performed correctly and safely.  She listens to you and encourages you to push yourself. 

Enlisting Clare’s help has been the best thing I have ever done for my body (and mind)........can’t wait for my next session!!

I've been training with Clare for a few months now, and she has made a huge difference in my fitness. When I started with her I was suffering from back pain and stiffness and often injured myself trying to lift weights. With Clare's help I've improved my form and have gained the confidence to plan my own workouts, and I feel so much better now! She's super approachable and motivating - I look forward to our sessions!

Why I started: I have Cerebral Palsy, which affects my mobility and balance. During pregnancy, my balance became worse and I wasn’t able to walk without assistance, as I was worried about falling. I had expected to be able to get back to walking as I did before, once I had the baby, but then realised I had developed a habit of holding to things/people for support when I walked, which has proved to be difficult to break. I decided to start having sessions with Clare to build up my muscle strength and practise my walking in a safe environment, to increase my confidence. I thought that having regular sessions with a personal would help me to stay motivated.

What I like about it: I get on well with Clare – she’s very encouraging, but in a down-to-earth way. I like the fact that she has every session planned out in advance, so I don’t have to think about what to do next and no time gets wasted.

How it’s helped: With Clare’s help, I’ve gone from hardly being able to put one foot in front of the other to walking multiple laps of the gym without any assistance! While I still have sessions where I feel I haven’t made as much progress as I should, Clare always manages to find something positive to say, which means we still end on a good note! 

Kate Hammill:

I’ve never been someone who would exercise just because I enjoyed it until I started my sessions with Clare. Ever since I can remember I have avoided doing any activities in the gym that I found difficult or hadn’t tried before for fear of embarrassment or “getting it wrong.” Sessions with Clare have taken away the uncertainty that a scary piece of gym equipment could offer up and has made me realise just what I am capable of. I am not always the best at retaining instructions however the patience and clear guidance Clare offers is great at keeping me on track and by the 3rd or 4th rep I am usually working twice as hard as I’ve found my groove and am actually enjoying it!! Her guidance with regards to nutrition has also been invaluable. In addition, as a working mum with a toddler at home, being able to work out on an evening in the comfort of my home with Clare’s guidance has been superb. Despite the usual hang ups that tend to occur after having a baby I genuinely feel stronger and more confident that before and whilst I still have work to do, I know Clare will keep me motivated and on track to achieve my goals!
